They were at the time making money in doing so through Google Adsense. At the time I wrote this article the website http://www.websiteoutlook.com/ reported they were making about $30-40 a day from advertising and based on that I’d say over all they were making about $50-100 a day from that domain.

Since blizzard changed some things in the way the bg system works, their method of cheating no longer works and I for one am glad.

There site is shown as only making about $1 a day in advertising income now so the old saying about traffic = income is true.

Megan, when and if more survey companies open up branches in SA I will be glad to list them. Many companies see SA as a risky place to do business but if the current policy of cooperation continues in Africa this may change in the near future. I will keep an eye out for you.

I am a member of OnDemand Research and I have to tell you I don’t quite understand your point about OnDemand Research being a scam…

1- Registration is free (they never ask you for a penny)
2- They telly you upfront that you are signing up and they will give you access to additional survey opportunities
3- They ask your permission to send you additional survey opportunities

Seems pretty straight forward to me, they deliver what they promise

Sticky password used to be called Multi-pass and was freeware if I remember correctly, and your right, it does seem to work very similar to Roboform and in fact may be just as good if not better than Roboform. The one thing I like about Roboform is that the compnay is very diligent about keeping their API’s up to date where they will work with the latest versions of all the browsers the program supports.

I do like that Sticky Password will log you into your other programs as well and if its virtual keyboard function would work with online games such as WoW then I will probably purchase it as well just for that function alone. I’ll have to do more research into the program but it does look like a contender against Roboform.

Thanks for the heads up on this program. Been a long time since I even looked at it.

Socratic Forum is an excellent company. I like that not every thing that they do is your typical survey format. The highest paying survey I’ve done was for this company ($75) and it was a web board that you had to go to for two days in a row and participate by answering the questions found there as well as respond to some of the other participants. I spend 30 min. each day so for 1 hour total time, I made $75 – not too shabby at all. Two thumbs up for SF!

Michelle I wish you would have left the URL for American Consumer Council, I cannot find a link for them. I also had never heard of MarketView Research, but I found a link to that site and joined today. Pinecone is a great company and used to be better until they lowered their payments from $5 to $3. I know quite a bit about how much money the information we give to these companies is worth and feel we, like any other freelance workers should be compensated for our opinion fairly. I would restore Pinecone as the #1 company on my list if they raised their rewards to what they used to be.

I am a member of several sights for taking surveys or earning points. Memolink is by far my favorite. I find they are safe for shopping and I don’t get spam from them. I cash out several times a year and they are consistent about their point earning opportunities. I love the daily trivia. Getting points and having fun…you can’t beat that.

Thanks for the link – looks like an interesting site, and looks to be reputable as well. Honestly, one survey a month is enough per provider – some of them constantly bombard you, so it’s nice to have one that’s not going to overwhelm (and pays fairly decently, to boot).

I think the more important part of this article was under reported, that being the part about The Venus Project. We have seen for generations what capitalism has done to parts of humanity, and the crimes that have been committed in the name of profit. I find the whole concept of freegans to be very interesting. I am obsessed with using coupons and getting free samples. Anything I can get for free or discounted is a bonus. I have friends who dumpster dive and I used to do this as a kid behind the local McDonalds. We would wait for the staff to come out, as they did every day at the same time, and toss perfectly good food out that was just past its time limit for the store. Then we would get the hot food out of the trash and eat it right there! hahahaha

The problem with the Freegans’ idea is that they are still dependent on the consumer culture. It doesn’t have much future as a sustainable lifestyle, since it simply uses resources (even if those resources are just leftovers) without replacing them.

I actually love the RoboForm software myself. I use it all of the time and it takes all of the menial everyday tasks that I have to perform on my computer daily and shortens them extremely! This a great product testing company. I recently beta tested a laptop for them. I didn’t get to keep the laptop but I did get a really nice check and the use of a sweet laptop for several weeks.

Roboform is a huge help to me in doing online surveys as well as keeping my hundreds of passwords straight. I like that I can use a different password with each site and never have to worry about loosing the account information.
