Those of you who have followed this blog since its inception have read at least a couple articles I have written about having to deal with caring for an elderly relative. As your friends and family get older caring for them in the way you would like to be taken care of yourself can become more difficult than you possibly imagined.
One thing we have learned is that proper nutrition goes a long way in helping people live longer and healthier lives than they would have otherwise. However, what about those who are not able to cook nutritious meals for themselves every day?
Luckily we here in America have volunteer programs that can help you or a loved one get the nutrition you need to live the best life possible if you are disabled and cannot cook for yourself. Most of these services offer delivery options where they will bring nutritious meals to a elderly or frail persons doorstep allowing them to keep living in their own homes for as long as possible. Many of these services go by the name of Meals on Wheels and you probably have one in your area.
