Global Test Market used to be one of my favorite survey sites. For many years I faithfully did surveys through them knowing that if I qualified I would get a minimum of $2.50 for my time an effort. Lately that trend has completely changed. On average, GTM only gives 30 points now instead of 50 resulting on a maximum payout of $1.50. Considering the potential profits that Global Test Market is making off of each survey, and even greater profits that corporations make from market research, this pay cut is certainly not a welcome occurrence.
Global Test Market is coming off my top ten recommendation list for several reasons. First off they do not have an affiliate program worth speaking of. Second, they have to high of a payout and with the lower paying surveys it takes too long to reach a point where you can put cash in your pocket with this company. Third, many of the surveys they are sending out now are sweepstakes surveys and I never do those.
I do surveys for two reasons. The first reason is to make extra money. The second is to influence consumer choice in a positive and beneficial manner for the consumer. However I will not continue to do so if I feel taken advantage of and with Global Test Market that is exactly how I am beginning to feel. I may make some enemies in the online survey community by saying this but as far as I am concerned Global Test Market and any other online survey panel that is taking advantage of the recession in America by lowering their survey payments can go bankrupt for all I care.
Doing surveys is not a way to make a full time income for anyone. Any company that claims otherwise is lying to you. Surveys can make you some extra spending money and give you the chance to try out new products before they come on the market. Doing surveys also gives you the opportunity to tell the manufacturers what is and what is not acceptable to you in the products they produce.
There are plenty of online survey panels that do appreciate their survey takers. Global Test Market, no matter how good they were in the past, appears not to be one of those any longer.
